Why Should You Join TECA?


Whether you are involved in the hydronic, forced-air or ventilation portion of the residential and light commercial mechanical trade, the Thermal Environmental Comfort Association welcomes you to join our growing association. TECA offers the industry a collective voice in local and provincial issues relating to our trade. Membership is by company on a yearly dues basis, expiring annually on January 31st. Voting and Associate Memberships are available to all participants in the residential and light commercial heating, ventilating and cooling industry in British Columbia. Thank you for supporting TECA's development of training programs and other initiatives for the betterment of the trade.

Note: Obtaining a Quality First™ number from a TECA training course is NOT the same as association membership.

Voting Membership


  • The Voting Member representative you name on the application receives an invitation via Constant Contact e-mail to our Member Meetings featuring technical presentations requested by our members. Meeting attendance is open to all employees and guests at the member rate. Non-Members will pay a higher registration fee.

  • Voting Member companies enjoy members' discounts of at least 20% off TECA's Quality First™ training courses, manuals, software, and other products for all employees.

  • Voting Member companies receive a member listing on TECA's website, with company name, city, and optional phone number, email and a link to your website. Please indicate on the application if you do not want certain contact information listed.

  • The Voting Member representative you name on the application receives an e-mailed or faxed invitation to TECA's monthly meetings featuring technical presentations requested by our members. Meeting attendance is open to all employees and guests.

  • The Voting Member representative may vote in person or by proxy to elect TECA's Board of Directors at our Annual General Meeting each June, and qualifies for nomination to the board.

  • Voting Members and their employees can now log into the Members Only section of our web site to view video presentations and membership specific content.

Associate Membership


  • Associate Members receive our newsletter and invitations to member meetings and other events. A great value for apprentices, regulators, trade schools, consultants, and others to stay informed about the industry.

  • A branch within a Voting Member company can apply for Associate Membership to receive TECA News and meeting notices at that location. Voting Member discounts will still apply to all employees.

  • Note: Associate Members do not receive member pricing on training and other products, and do not receive a website listing.

TECA Member Code of Conduct

TECA members hold that:

  • All dwellings should have safe and comfortable Heating, Cooling and Ventilation systems.
  • These systems should be well-designed, properly installed and properly commissioned in accordance with TECA training and regulatory requirements.

To achieve these goals, each member pledges compliance to the following principles and policies:

  • Our responsibility is to our customer or the dwelling occupant.
  • Honesty and good value are our guiding policies.
  • Within reason, the best available design and installation criteria should be built into every system.
  • Will resolve customer concerns in a timely manner.
  • High standards of health and safety guide our system design and installation.
  • Members shall deal fairly with their respective employers and suppliers.
  • As members of a progressive industry, we encourage research, education, new techniques and improved installation methods, to ensure the greatest value to the customer.
  • We hold inviolate the free enterprise and democratic systems.
  • We, as individual members, assume these responsibilities freely and solemnly, mindful that they are part of our obligation as members of the Thermal Environmental Comfort Association.
