Quality First™ Municipal Heat Pump Certification (Hydronic) Courses

Additional virtual and "in person" course delivery dates will be posted to our web site as confirmed.

City of Vancouver:  As of January 1, 2022, residential buildings under four stories will no longer be permitted to use Natural Gas for their heating and hot water systems under the prescriptive requirements. (This requirement can be met with electric heat pumps or electric resistance options). Gas fireplaces, cooking appliances and BBQ boxes will still be permitted. To install a heat pump in Vancouver, you must have a Municipal Heat Pump Certification and be registered, as of July 1, 2022, as a certified heat pump installer.

Note: Presently for new construction and not retrofits. Visit the following webpages for further details:

Heat pumps and permits

This is not a self-paced course, it is online synchronous delivery. You will be expected to be available and online on the posted days and times shown on your registration schedule. It is important you have a stable and consistent internet connection to access course content.

Note: This is a 24 hour course which includes the exam and a Question & Answer segment with your instructor.  Successful registrants will receive a Municipal Heat Pump Certification wallet card, certificate and stamp.
