The Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Petroleum Resources (MEMPR) has launched LiveSmart BC, a new rebate program in conjunction with NRCan's ecoENERGY incentive grant. There are a wide variety of energy-saving rebates for space heating, water heating, and other home retrofits.

SolarBC received MEMPR support in July to offer homeowners a $1000 rebate on solar hot water heating installations throughout BC. Additional incentives from the provincial LiveSmart BC program and federal ecoENERGY grant apply even if the homeowner also upgrades space heating or water heating equipment, for total solar hot water heater rebates of up to $1625 on qualifying installations.

The Certified Heating Technician (CHT) program is taking registrations for Fall 2008 classes now! For program and registration process information, visit www.heatingtech.ca
